Hadrian and Antinous : My Blog ain't worksafe anymore....

Judging from the stone sculpture of Antinous that I saw- I gotta say. Wow. He REALLY WAS a living Adonis. No wonder Hadrian fell for him !

Whoever said that Greek history was boring ? Not when it includes homosexuals and passion and lust and PRETTY BOYS that is.

The story of Hadrian and Antinous is an intriguing one. Antinous was a beautiful male youth- the epitome of everything that a beautiful male should be. He was like a living and breathing Adonis. So beautiful was he, that he attracted the attention of Roman emperor Hadrian. Hadrian was taken by him. Completely. Antinous wasn't just a boytoy. He was a lover. To cut long story short, Antinous died before Hadrian did, and Hadrian was heartbroken. He mourned Antinous's tragic death, and built a shrine for him. Antinous was worshipped as a God of Male Beauty. To this day, you can see his shrine standing tall, a romantic memoir in Rome.

3. Start rambling and giving thoughts about fandoms ^^

4. Post more art

5. Rec a website or fic.

It feels nice to have a blog, haha. Regardless of whether anyone bothers to view it or not.

It's where I want to be.

Prayer for Becoming Better

Father,
I know that I AM capable of so much more than the energy that I have been putting out into the world. Sometimes I can be incredibly lethargic, uncaring and self-centered and then I choose not to pursue all that I AM capable of being; all that You created me to be.
Help me to snap out of it when I fall into these old patterns of thought. My desire is to serve You and do all things that glorify Your Name. Your Son Jesus said, "He that believeth on Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto My Father."
Father, I believe the Words that Jesus spoke and I believe that I AM capable of great works through You. Help me to realize and live my full capability and the personal mission that you created me to do.
